The purpose of the dress code is to ensure that anyone who sees our team entering and leaving arenas are left with a positive impression of our players, team and association. Senior players, such as those on the U18AA team, should set a good example for younger players. Remember that a negative first impression is difficult to overcome, and dressing appropriately can go a long way in creating a positive image.
Regular Season and Exhibition Games
For regular games, we are asking players to come wearing Avs team wear:
- Avs quarter zip or sweatshirt
- Black joggers
- Running shoes
- Avs black team jacket when the weather is colder
- Hats and toques are allowed but only with Avs logos (or no logo)
When it is time to warm up, players can change into an Avs shirt and shorts.
No other team or association logos should be worn.
Tournaments and Playoffs
For tournaments, especially with University coaches and scouts in attendance, players should dress more professionally:
- Black dress pants (e.g., solid black pants or leather; no joggers or athleisure wear)
- Nice white dress shirt or blouse
- Shoes: Sperries, Blundstones, or any white/black shoes
- Avs black team jacket when the weather is colder
For warm-ups, players should change into an Avs shirt, shorts and running shoes.
No other team or association logos should be worn.
