Here are three great shorthanded goals scored by Logan O’Conner (#25) of the Colorado Avalanche that were scored in three consecutive games.
On all three goals, he recognizes that once his team recovers the puck, that he’ll give himself an opportunity by sprinting up the ice. He doesn’t wait. He goes… and screams for the puck. Rather than just simply icing the puck, Colorado gets a shorthanded breakaway.
You’ll also notice that on all three goals, he changes the position of the puck immediately before he shoots. This changes the shooting angle and opens up more of the net to shoot at.
