Many Japanese companies, including Toyota, Sony, Panasonic, follow a mentor-protégé practice called Senpai-Kohai (pronounced “sen-pie, ko-high”) in which they pair up senior employees with junior employees to guide and advise them through their careers.
This breaks down barriers between older and younger employees. It instills in the senpai (mentor) a sense of responsibility for the next generation and gives the kohai (protégé) the security of having a senior looking out for them.
For our training camp and possibly beyond, we’ll be partnering everyone on the team in a similar fashion.
Today’s Assignment:
Each player needs to provide 3 choices for their Senpai-Kohai partner from our team. Selections should be made using the Google form below.
Seniors (3rd year U18 players) and Sophomores (2nd year U18 players) will be Senpai. Rookies (1st year U18 players) will be Kohai.
Partners will be announced later this week.

- Complete today’s workout on the TeamBuildr app. Be sure to mark each exercise complete as you finish it. Depending on your schedule (other sports, work, etc.) it is okay to complete the exercises on another day or even substitute an alternate workout provided that the difficultly level is similar. Please make note of any substitutions or switches as part of the daily check in item in the TeamBuildr app.
