Ancaster Avalanche Girls Hockey Association (AAGHA) is proud to announce its new High-Performance Development (HPD) Program. Stephen Raitt will coordinate the program. The HPD Program is designed to promote the vision and ideals of the Ancaster Avalanche Girls Hockey Association particularly as they apply to players who aspire to play at the highest competitive levels. In part the AAGHA Mission Statement reads, “Our ultimate goal is to create an environment, both on and off the ice, that enables our players to learn valuable lessons and skills through their hockey development that can be transferred to their lives outside the rink.” This new program seeks to expand the learning, skill development, and ascension opportunities for girls playing competitive hockey in Ancaster as they grow through our system and beyond. Through this program, we will look to improve player and coaching development for all our players and teams by:
- Coordinating development between teams and coaches at the Bantam, Midget and Intermediate levels (with plans to extend the program to the Peewee level going forward);
- Developing shared resources to both improve our competitive team and player development and reduce the cost for all teams;
- Facilitating player growth through multi-year individual development plans, in-season development sessions and multi-team summer camps; and
- Providing coach mentoring, training and volunteer opportunities for everyone in our system.
If you would like more information on this program, or would like to get involved with the program, please contact Stephen Raitt here
