This is the thirteenth day of our team’s virtual mid-season training camp. Each day for the next 28 days, there will be a short assignment for you to do to continue your development. These assignments are mandatory for players and coaches. Parents are also encouraged to participate.
Increasing your hockey knowledge is one of the easiest ways for you to become a better hockey player.
Watch Hockey! Talk Hockey!
The simplest way to improve your hockey knowledge is to watch more hockey. There are games on TV all the time. Make it a habit to watch hockey. That’s a pretty easy habit to get into.
YouTube is a great source for hockey videos. Game highlights, skill tips, practice routines, scoring techniques, tactics, coaching secrets, equipment reviews and much more are available quickly and easily searchable.
Plus, there are hundreds of great hockey-specific websites.
There are hundreds of great books about hockey.
Talk about hockey with your friends, teammates, family and coaches.
Other Ways To Develop Your Hockey I.Q.
Take a coaching clinic.
Take a trainers clinic.
Take a refereeing clinic.
All of these would look great on your Athlete Profile and will definitely impress potential coaches and recruiters.
